Day: May 29th

Today was a HUGE day! The plantings finally happened, plus the bulb plants were going wild! Here's what got done. First off is the thriving Barbara Michael lily!

Also while watering the clematis and climbing rose, we rousted out a poor chubby bumblebee who was undoubtedly going 'what the heck! What the heck!' She dried herself off and flew away.

As predicted, the chives looked lovely in bloom.

The clematis and climbing rose, living together in perfect harmony. It's going to be lovely when they blossom.

If you look inside this fascinating mystery fern that lives in the garden, you'll see a resurrected lavender. Our first recurring lavender!

Not a plant, but always good to see a gnome friend.

The irises are budding!

Cat is photogenic as always. It's hard work supervising gardening.

Look at how tuckered she is. (Don't worry about the leash in the boards there, she knows how to get it out of there faster than we can)

The peonies are nearly here! Look at all those ants helping them along! Do the ants help? Anyway there's lots of ants!

These petunia colours have a different name, but I think of them as peppermint. One of this years display pots.

And on the other side, purple petunias. Like guardian lions. But petunias.

The portulaca is an especial favourite of this household, looking both delicate and fancy but also coming in a wide variety of pretty colours.

The dear sweet violas have been placed all over the garden, but most importantly in this old porcelain shoe.

This picture is simply saved as 'the magic is happening' and boy, is it ever.

And the finished results of today's efforts!! Happy and growing in their new homes.
