These bleeding hearts came with the house and dutifully come back to life from what appears to be dead growth every year!
Speaking of came with the house, these caraganas have some lovely blossoms out!
We had some VERY vigorous lavender last year. It, alas, did not rejoin us this year. Here it is being unplanted to put in some new plants. It still had a very strong lavender scent!
These little geraniums are mighty. They had a little red blossom orginally and hopefully will again soon. This is one of two, both being planted in pots.
Iris bud! Very aesthetic, no?
The heat isn't being very kind to the blossoms, but these irises are very hardy and beautiful.
Also, surprise! There's irises on the left side of the garden too! It turns out their patch has spread! (Thank you squirrels?)
Some of the beautiful lilacs (also came with the house) that bloom each year. Unfortunately pictures of the lighter purple ones weren't captured in time. Lilac season is so fleeting.
These marigolds are doing their best in the heat!

So far the pictures in this diary have been the peonies on the left side! There is, indeed, a second bush on the right!

Not every part of the garden is there to look pretty! This rhubarb is destined for some delicious desserts.
The rock garden from the front! It's going to look so good when it's completed.
Sand cherry update! The blossoms are beginning to fade. Now that we know they're a cherry bush, we'll be on the alert for fruiting.
We still have some plants waiting in the wings. Lots of mint!
These two tomato plants were a gift from a mr. WH, and they are very much appreciated. They're really thriving!
The shoe violas looked lovely today!
The snapdragons continue to be garden gems.
