Day: June 4th
It's still really hot out - reaching 36 degrees at one point. It hasn't been kind to the plants but some are doing pretty good despite, like the Mystery Ferns! Look how vibrant they are!

And what's that hidden inside? Why it's the phoenix-like lavender!

The first flush of portulaca blossoms have faded, hurried along by the heat.

But the next wave of snapdragons are on their way. The first little nubbins are in front of the see-sawing gnomes.


Unfortunately the shoe violas did not survive the heat. This is the last known photo of them. They got super crispy.
