Day: June 4th

It's still really hot out - reaching 36 degrees at one point. It hasn't been kind to the plants but some are doing pretty good despite, like the Mystery Ferns! Look how vibrant they are!

And what's that hidden inside? Why it's the phoenix-like lavender!

The first flush of portulaca blossoms have faded, hurried along by the heat.

But the next wave of snapdragons are on their way. The first little nubbins are in front of the see-sawing gnomes.

Unfortunately the shoe violas did not survive the heat. This is the last known photo of them. They got super crispy.

Day: June 5th

The anticipation with this peony is growing.

The petunia planting is completed. Here is the final arrangement!

Look how juicy these snapdragon blossoms are!

While we have tragically lost the shoe violas, others in the garden endure and flourish.

Day: June 8th

The garden has now been covered in last year's leaves, to help feed the soil. In it you can see the bits and bobs of the flowers it's meant to feed.

The marigolds have been real champions in this heat. It looks a little autumny with those leaves and their orange and yellows.

The pansy in the rabbit blossomed! It's shy and cute.

oh lawd it's coming

The portulacas are budding for round two!

And the budding snapdragon by the see-saw gnomes has grown into a beautiful pink blossom.
