Day: June 18th
Look! The clematis bloom has become a clematis BLOSSOM. What a beautiful shade of purple! And what's that behind it? Another bud!

The peonies are on their way out, with a few last brilliant stragglers.

The portulaca continues, as is its wont. Soon this will be another vibrant wave of colour. Peony blossoms dot the landscape.

A single perfect rose blossom. Some buds coming in to join the party.

What is this? Is the shoe viola TRULY coming back?

Day: June 20th
Behold, the catmint. You may ask, 'why is it on its side?' and the answer is that every time the cat walks by, she has a good long nuzzle and it's had a structural effect.

The clematis bud from the 18th has begun to open! More of that lovely purple.

But if you look up... surprise! More! More!

The full effect (with some rose cameo).

Love a flower that's so bright it's next to impossible to photograph. Go go geraniums.

The other pot is a little more subdued.

We bid a seasonal adieu to the irises and a 'oh my, you're really thriving' to the ferns of unknown identity. They came from the garden of a relative and we've never quite known who or what these plants are.

The lavender is trying its best.

The mint looks so luscious. Will it actually get added to anything this year? For the record our attempt to make mint juleps the other year was a questionable endeavour at best. But it's nice to have and hopefully it'll keep away the mosquitoes.

The bunny planet pansy continues to make the most of a small living space, putting out bloom after bloom.

The parsley (UPDATE: Cilantro) is going wild. Are we going to use it to decorate any food? (UPDATE: NO BECAUSE IT'S CILANTRO AND YOU EAT THAT) Well that's between us and God.

Look at those roses! Amazing! Just absolutely thriving this year, their first year to really take off in the garden.

Day: June 21st
Clematis levels... increasing...

Penies... decreasing... also these mysterious buds, past season?

There has been some deadheading.

And peony blossoms litter everywhere today.

The roses are doing so well. We're so proud of them.

Day: June 25th
The clematis and the roses live in harmony. It was only through the care of the newly added rose the other year that the clematis really sprung to life. Before it was assumed to be dead.

The dianthus is no longer an eyeburner.

That's all for peonies this year, folks!
